The Bookish Fairy

Young adult, magical realism, and every book in between infused with fairy dust...

Mystery Blogger Award!

April 11, 2018

Thank you so much my new book buddy Marina @ Books of Magic for nominating me for the Mystery Blogger Award! I am so glad we are doing a buddy read and we both have a shared love of witches! Please check out Marina @ Books of Magic! Her posts are so cute, quirky, and her blog is adorable! She writes book reviews on YA, Fantasy, Magical Realism, Historical Fiction, Short Stories, Graphic Novels, and even Children’s books! This woman has her bases covered when it comes to book reviews and not only does she do book reviews on these genres she also reviews tv shows and games!

Rules:

1. Put the award logo on your blog.
2. Thank whoever nominated you and include a link to their blog.
3. Mention the creator of the award and provide a link to their blog as well. (Maggie @okoto enigmas blog)
4. Tell your readers three things about yourself.
5. Nominate 10-20 people.
6. Notify your nominees.
7. Ask your nominees any five questions of your choice, specifying one weird/funny question.
8. Share a link to your best post(s).

3 Things About Me

1) I have an obsession with teen soap operas! (BTW I just ordered five issues of the Entertainment Weekly’s Dawson’s Creek 20th Anniversary!)

2) I used to have an unreal obsession with the Hanson band for four years straight and I even got a rat tail that resembled Taylor Hanson’s! Only his rat tail was straight and sleek and mine was all wavy and frizzy! (Don’t judge my 15-year-old self!)

Yeah…Hanson would totally boo this look!

3) My dream is to go on a writing retreat somewhere in Europe! Ideally Florence because I just went there last year for my honeymoon and it’s freaking beautiful!!!

Marina’s Questions

  1. Is there anything you’re proud of doing/achieving and what is it? I am proud of working on my masters and finishing in two years while working a full-time career!
  2. In your perfect dictatorship day-dream, which book would you ban and which one you’d give to the masses for free? This is a no-brainer! I would ban 50 Shades of Grey because it is completely sexist and anti-feminist! I was guilty of reading and once enjoying these books but over time I have seen the error of my ways! I would give the book Weetzie Bat, which is my favorite magical realism novel because it’s a book that makes you see the beauty of life and you can read it in one hour!
  3. If Edward Cullen bit you and you gained immortality, what would you dedicate your life to? After being properly disinfected and de-sparkled of course. I would dedicate my life to reading every dang book and eliminate my reader guilt of not reading popular books (Sarah J. Mass cough cough) and writing my novel of course!
  4. Imagine your ultimate reading moment – the setting, the time, the weather conditions, the chair coziness aspect, every bit. My ultimate reading moment would be to read in a vineyard located in Florence, Italy on a nice spring day, with a glass of wine in my hand, lots of pasta, and a comfy reading chair that overlooks the beauty of the vineyards!
  5. Why is a raven like a writing desk? Uhhh…say what?! Ok, I had to google this! Based on what I found it says that the bird’s wings flap up and down like a desk flapping up and down?! Maybe…eeek

Now here are my nominations for the mystery blogger award!

1) Flo @ Book Nerds Across America

2) Melanie @ Story Shaped Girl

3) Krysti @ YA and Wine

4) Madalyn @ Novel Ink

5) Victoria @ A Bookish Secret

6) Kim @ Divergent Gryffindor

7) Michelle @ The Writing Hufflepuff

8) Giselle @ Xpresso Reads

9) Beth @ Reading Every Night

10) Jessica @ Book Crack

My Questions for the Nominees…<3

1) If you were stuck in a television show which show would you want to be stuck in?

2) If you could travel anywhere around the world where would you go?

3) What is your most life-altering book?

4) We always say that the book is better than the movie! Although if you can pick one movie that is actually better than the book which movie would you pick?

5) Now for my silly/funny question! You’re stuck on a deserted island! What boy/girl band member would you want to be stuck in a deserted island with?

Not sure if this is considered my best post but here it is!
