The Bookish Fairy

Young adult, magical realism, and every book in between infused with fairy dust...

Magical Three Monday Reads Book Tags

November 5, 2018

Here are my top three magical reads that could lift the spell of those dreaded Monday blues!

1…Women in Front of the Sun: On Becoming a Writer

I read this book in celebration of Hispanic Heritage month and I felt like this was perfect to read prior to NaNoWriMo! This book is inspiring, lyrical, and has hints of magical realism throughout the book. This book was like drinking a warm cup of manzanilla and it brought me comfort through the difficult moments I had this month and that is magic for me.

2…When the Moon Was Ours

I haven’t read this book but I think this book looks like magical realism perfection! Not only is this book written by a Latinx author but it also involves witches! Even though, this could be considered more of a Halloweenie read this could also be a cozy little fall read. I am holding on for dear life to my fall reads till the last day of fall!

3…Analee, in Real Life

This book is simply magical to me because it is written by a Cuban American author with a teenage Cuban American mc and that is everything to me. I am Cuban American and I am highly anticipating reading it this week since I will meet the Janelle Milanes at the Miami Book Fair this month! Even though I have read my share of Latinx reads, I have never read a book with a teenage Cuban American MC before!

I will tag…
