OVERWHELMING OCTOBER

So once again…I have disappeared on you guys on and of course, it had to be in my favorite month of the whole year! This month was filled with stress for me and I wasn’t a happy camper needless to say…

#HocusPocusDreamsDashed

Along with juggling two jobs, meal prepping, making time with friends and family, and exercising my schedule got completely thrown off when I had to take a Saturday workshop three times during the month of October! Saturdays were my days to catch up on writing blog posts and meal prepping. Everything got completely thrown off for me and I was constantly playing catch up the whole month and losing significant amounts of sleep! (I don’t recommend running on five hours of sleep.)

THE POWER OF THE PLANNER (AND SAYING NO)

Now life is getting back to normal and I have been really trying to learn how to better plan out my month when my schedule has been thrown for a loop. I bought myself a new planner in Target and it has been a game changer for me. Now I am planning out my whole crazy busy life for the month of November and making sure to keep my priorities in order. I used to plan my week and then I realized that not in only is it important to plan by week, it’s important for me to plan for the whole month. This was a revelation for me! I was able to see all the events and things that I had planned for the entire month and it made it so much easier to figure out what to plan for and what to say no to. So if your a yes person like me and your someone that frequently gets overwhelmed get yourself a planner or just get a calendar and life won’t feel as overwhelming anymore. I couldn’t believe that something so easy was right there in front of me the entire time! Oh and please learn to say NO!

OTHER BOOK PLATFORMS

Lately, I have been trying to figure out if I could resort to other bookish platforms besides blogging. Everyone I know seems to have a BookTube Vlog and I thought that maybe it might be less stressful to have a once a week video post to replace one of my blog posts. Boy, was I wrong! It takes a lot more time to set up a vlog post than it is to set up a blog post. Basically, long story short…it’s not for me. I am thinking about venturing instead into podcasts but for now, I am focusing my energies on my blog and you may be seeing a surprise or two coming up very soon!!!

NaNoWriMo TIME

I am also doing NaNoWriMo this month! Now most people that do NaNoWriMo write brand new books! This won’t be the case for me! I am working on the existing novel that I have been working in one way or another for the last ten years! This novel is a magical realism novel set in Miami and last year I was working on a witchy novel and that just took too much research! I have a feeling this NaNoWriMo month will be very successful for me and that my novel will be completed before the end of the year! Right now, I have close to 11,000 words written. My goal is to at least achieve 20,000 more words for the month of November! As much as writing 50,000 would be incredible for me I need to stay realistic. Although I will have this book completed before the New Year!

I am so excited for this month of November and I cannot wait to share all my upcoming posts with all of you and surprises that will be coming in store!
