Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag

July 6, 2018

I have never heard of a Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag until this year and since I have seen many bloggers/vloggers use this tag, I am going to jump on the tag bandwagon!

This Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag questions comes from the book vlogger emmabooks!

1…Favorite book you read so far is…

Save the Date!

Obvi Morgan Matson is one of my favorite authors of all time and even more so this year since I had the opportunity to meet her! She is an absolute love IRL and so easy to talk to! This book gave me all the feels! I love the fact that the story centers on a close quirky family and the story just pulled on my heartstrings!

2…The best sequel you have read is…

Eeeek! None! I need to get with the program I know…

I usually gravitate more to stand alone novels because series/sequels are hard for me to keep up with!

3…A new release you haven’t read yet but are really excited to…

I feel like I am going to absolutely adore this book and this is on my top ten summer TBR list! What can be a more perfect summer read than L.A. fashion boutiques and hopping around Los Angeles in search of the best burger?!

4…Your most anticipated sequel for the rest of the year…

OMG! I cannot wait for Wildcard! I am not a huge science fiction reader but reading Warcross completely took me by surprise! I love the futuristic and high-tech virtual-reality world that Marie Lu created! The characters are all kick-ass, complex, and wonderful in every way! Warcross would make an excellent movie especially with all the hype with shows like Westworld and VR technology! Even though I totally guessed the plot twist that was revealed, the Warcross book was no less engaging and phenomenal. I know that Wildcard will not disappoint and that it is going to be a perfect ending to this awesome duology!

5…Your biggest disappointment you have read this year…

Ok…I heard so much about this book on Goodreads! I heard that this book is a great feel-good romance novel and it was described as the kind of book that makes you feel all giddy after you read it! Overall, I felt that this book was an entertaining read but the book was surprisingly a big flop for me! There were elements in the book that were missing and I felt like the ending was just a big dud!

6…The book you weren’t expecting to love…

I have no idea what I was thinking but this book was pure Harry Potter level for me and I am highly anticipating the second book! Read my review about it here.

7…My favorite new to me author…

Pure unadulterated delight! This author wrote the perfect and heart-warming YA contemporary! I need to read all of her books! Read my review about it here.

8…New Fictional Crushes…

I loooove Bill from Save the Date! He is such a sweetheart and how can you not fall in love with someone that spontaneously dances with you in the middle of a grocery store?!

9…Your new favorite fictional character…

J.J. from Save the Date was a trip! He wasn’t the main character of the book but this guy cracked me up! I hope that Morgan Matson brings this lovable goofball back for her future books!

10…A book that made you cry…

Here we go again people…just call this the Save the Date book tag! (Sorry but I love this book so much!) Well, since this book is about a wedding and a family that is going through many changes I was getting teary-eyed many times throughout this book! I love the Grant family and the strong bond that this family has and I need them back in my life!

11…A book that made you happy…

Girl Wash Your Face was such an uplifting book and after I was done reading it I just had a big smile plastered on my face!

12…Your favorite review/blog post you wrote this year…

COBAB was a hard book for me to review but I am so happy with the end product! Read my review about it here. My favorite blog post was Future YA Classics! This book tag was such a fun and original book tag to write!

13…The most beautiful book you have purchased this year…

Actually I don’t own this book but it’s the most striking book cover I have seen this year and I am still dying to read this book! This is on my fall TBR list and I NEED to read this book before the end of the year!

14…Books You Need to Finish Before the End of the Year…

I will not let yet another year go by without finishing ACOTAR and Fangirl! I am sick of feeling the FOMO and I need to get with it!!!

Finally, this is the end of my book tag! Anyone that wants to do this book tag is more than welcome to! Please let me know in the comments below your mid-year book goals and the books that you have read this year that you just cannot get over!
